It is with total honesty that this is the FIRST time I have had about 3 minutes to myself to write in my blog.
As you moms know, the last weeks of June are horrible with all the commitments your children have. Field days, field trips, awards night, dances, softball playoffs, picnics, studying for Regents etc...
As you teachers know, the last few weeks of June are horrible with all the commitments your job has. Finishing up work, end of the year celebrations, setting up presentations, making sure everything is given back, staff appreciation night, graduation, cleaning up your room.
As you Girl Scout Leaders know, the last few weeks of June are horrible with all the commitments your troop has. Campfires, Bridging requirements, financial reports, end of the year gifts, parties.
As you directors of camps know, the last weeks of June are horrible with all the commitments your campers require. Setting up an entire building to be ready for 80 people, lesson planning and prep, last minute additions and subtractions, budget, staffing, serious food allergies, finalizing special events.
As you June babies know, the last weeks of June are horrible with all the BIRTHDAYS we have this month. Morgan, Carrie, Stephen, Megan, Pete, Goober, Emma, Scott, Alexa and myself to name a few.
As you all know, I am a mom, a teacher, a Girl Scout Leader, a June baby and a camp director. Therefore, I have had NO time to do anything these last few weeks of June. Including clean my house. AND it's starting to get HOT!!!!! Once I am no longer a mom, teacher, GS leader, June baby and camp director, then I can get back out there. Until then, I will do the best I can--- like get on my bike to deliver the GS paperwork that is due 5 miles away instead of driving there.

Lauren, I have been there, maybe not QUITE as much as camp director too, but I HAVE been there and I know quite well. But this too does pass and you will get back on that bike! You will also learn one day what to leave in and what to leave out. But when you have kids, you will do everything you can since HS days and college days come awfully fast! Love you and Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you don't get to sit down for a month should count for something! We're eating too much cake and staying in the air conditioning.... not exactly the best recipe for health. Even five miles on the bike adds up. Keep going!
