Tick, tick, tick... BOOM!

So this week has been a complete explosion and I am trying to climb out of the rubble. The last week of school is always crazy, that's a given . I was working hard all week getting camp up and ready to run. TICK... Changing Kiersten's school. TICK... Running errands to get the kids ready for Camp Grandma, dealing all the end of the year stuff the kids do. TICK... No time for anything. I mean NO TIME! So, how did I find time to fit in a birthday? With a quick dinner at a nice restaurant and waking up to a call that would change my whole summer.

"Good morning. How are you?" "Not as bad as you're going to be in about 2 minutes" BOOM!

Long story short, the last three days have been spend endlessly disappointing people, moving heavy furniture back and forth, doing hours of paperwork, fielding angry phone calls and ultimately canceling camp over something that was out of my control. So here's the question: If you eat ice cream for dinner and no one is around to see, does it really count at all? :)

My eating habits are erratic at best. I forget to eat breakfast, have a cupcake for lunch and then am too nauseous to even consider dinner. My poor family has had pasta and pancakes for dinner the past 3 days... I am too busy to even think about cooking dinner. Forget my exercise routine. We did go on a 5 mile bike ride and a 2.5 mile hike over the weekend, so I am staying active. Just not dutiful.

Hopefully, the next few days will settle down and I can get back in the groove. Right now, I have replaced Xanax with sugar and that's ok with me... It's "medically necessary".

  1. Ugh, Lauren. I'm so sorry to hear what a disaster things are right now! Perhaps you need to bail out of New York and spend a few weeks at Camp Greenbelt Rankels? Hang in there!!

  2. Lauren, this is life in June with kids. And THEN it's you Ka-BOOM! Next week the girls will be gone and you can catch up. Keep taking those 5 miles bike rides and walks. Every little bit helps. Jo
